Chapter- 9

 

‘You see, mu-‘, but before Krystal could finish her sentence Oliver, Lavender and Ruby swooped in one by one and each told her that their job had been finished.  Krystal by give her treatment by which she put her mouth against Chelsey’s and started breathing into Chelsey’s mouth. Chelsey gave a sudden jerk and stirred. She tried to speak but no voice came out. Her eyes turned wide and she clutched her throat and gagged. She mouthed the word ‘help’. Then Krystal mouthed word ‘wand’. Kendra then said, ‘ Use your wand, Chelsey’. Chelsey looked relieved when she took out her wand and pointed it at herself. She spluttered, ‘ The snow is Valemanium snow. It  freezes the victim. But who would do such a th-‘, suddenly she stopped dead when her eyes wandered to Krystal. ‘What are you doing here , Kristy?’ Everyone looked from Krystal to Chelsey again and again. But, then , finally Kendra spluttered, ‘ How do you know each other?’ ‘Actually,’ Chelsey breathed, ‘ the question is how do, you all know her?’ Everyone stared at Krystal, until she said under her breath, ‘ I’m a witch, mum.’ Kendra gasped. Oliver, Lucas, Williams and Ariel stood there with their mouths agape. Ava, Ruby, Lavender and Sam glared in a shocked manner. Sarah jumped up a foot in the air. James screeched, ‘ How could you keep that from us for eleven years!!’ Chelsey simply looked puzzled and said, ‘ Of course, she is’ ‘Wait a second.’, she turned to Kendra, ‘ Is Krystal your sister?’ She stood up from the sofa and stumbled. She fell back on to the sofa breathing heavily. Her eyes were wide and the atmosphere once so pleasant dropped into a tense air. ‘ Let’s get you into the bubble bath, Chelsey’, said Mrs. Ralson glaring at Krystal. Kendra and Mrs. Ralson balanced Chelsey into the bathroom and Mrs. Ralson helped her take her cloths off.

Meanwhile outside the bathroom everyone sat in silence though each and everyone of their emotions said otherwise. Krystal started to play with her fingernails. Kendra broke the ice by querying Krystal about how it was possible that she was studying in ‘Brooke Lake Academy’ and at the same time studying at Dogseye. She chewed on her lip again.
